Pages of Treasures - Episode 11

Man Suk is sad that Ming and Alex are not on speaking terms. Yuk consoles Man Suk, saying that the children are now adults, if they really get into a fight, there's nothing they can do that will stop the fight. Man Suk laments that if he is capable of single-handedly support and bring up the family, then Ming would not have to go to Mauritius to work. Ming would get better education and the brothers can get along better.

The next morning when Yuk goes to wake Ming up for breakfast, she discovers that he's gone. Ming left a note saying that he will replace his colleague who is sick for the morning shift duty. He will also be working his own shift in the afternoon/evening and will not be back for dinner.

Alex arrives at his office building and Ming opens the door for him. The two brothers do not greet one another and there was an awkward moment. Alex sees Hillary at the lift lobby and greets her. She informs Alex that she's dealing with the break up with K.O. quite well. K.O. then joins the both of them in the lift. Another awkward moment.

Hillary tenders her resignation and sends the letter directly to the HR department. K.O. finds out and managed to pull the letter back and questions Hillary about it. Hillary says she's very determined to leave and there's nothing K.O. can do to change her mind. K.O. accuses her of being in a relationship with Alex. K.O. also made a comment that Alex is several "classes" lower than he is but Hillary says that in terms of personality, character and goodness of the heart, Alex is several "classes" ahead of K.O.!

Alex goes over to Abbie's house for dinner. Patrick and Abbie console Alex and say Ming is an understanding and forgiving person. They advise Alex to give Ming a few days to cool down. Alex laments that Ming has always been a good brother to him and he is ashamed that he got so angry and scolded the brother who loves him dearly. Abbie suggests that Alex comes up with a strategy to apologise to Ming.

Ming, just like Alex, also avoids going home. He lies to Yuk saying that he is out berbequing with his colleagues when in fact he is dining alone at a restaurant. Coincidentally, Chung was there too and joined him. He revealed to her that he has an argument with Alex. Chung advises Ming to apologise by giving Alex a card. Chung asks Ming to write his heartfelt apology on the card and gave it to Alex.

Chung reminds Pansy to return her the HKD 100,000 she lend him before the end of the month as she needs it to pay her brother's school fees. Pansy assures Chung that she remembers it.

Ming prepares a "sorry" card for Alex and places the card on Alex's desk, while Alex was sleeping. Actually Alex was just pretending to sleep and knows that Ming came into his room. Ming goes back to his room only to discover his fully mended ship on his desk. (The ship is Ming's prized possession which he brought back from Mauritius and was broken during an argument with Chung!) Alex told Ming that the ship should be like how it used to be. Ming teases Alex for not being "creative" enough as he copies Sammi's idea and seek Chung's help. The two brothers made up and are on speaking terms again.

Yuk told the children that Man Suk is unwell. Man Suk says he has seen the Chinese Physician and the physician says he is not resting and sleeping well, and have too much to worry about which contributes to his bad state of health. Alex comment that Man Suk is a retiree, he should be very relaxed and has no worries. Man Suk says he is worried about his family and the children.

Alex and Ming gets the idea that Man Suk, Yuk and Sammi are putting on a show to get them to make peace. In turn Ming and Alex argue even more and reversed the prank on them. Ming and Alex then reveal that they know Man Suk only pretended to be unwell. Nonetheless, Man Suk and Yuk is happy to know that the sons have made up and are on good terms again.

On Hillary's last day at work, a hacker penetrates and attack three of their clients' system. While investigating the problems, K.O. barges in to the meeting room and reprimanded Alex in front of his peers. K.O. says Alex reacted too slowly to the problems and caused the clients' to sustain losses. Alex told K.O. that the most important thing at the moment is to solve the problems first. Hillary backs Alex up. She even offers to stay back (delay her resignation) to help the team solve the vulnerabilities in the system.

Ming brings some soup over to Chung's place for her. Chung was cutting out some sale coupons from a magazine. Ming asks her to go shopping together so they can both benefit from the coupons. While shopping, Ming and Chung realise that they are actually cut from the same cloth - they save on themselves but splurge when shopping for others. Chung received a call from Pansy who asks Chung to buy her a bottle of cream(?). Chung took the chance to remind Pansy to pay her back the HKD 100,000 Pansy borrowed earlier. Ming heard the conversation between Chung and Pansy and asks Chung about the loan. Ming warns Chung that Pansy might cheat her of her money, but Chung is confident that Pansy will not.

Chung received a call from her brother, informing her that he needs to pay his accommodation fees sooner than expected. Chung immediately informs Pansy. Pansy asks her colleague out to get back her money from the investment in China. But her colleague told her that they cannot get their money back as the money is all lost! Actually her colleague has the intention to cheat her since the beginning, it was Pansy who is stupid to fall for the scam.

Pansy has no choice but to tell Chung the truth. Chung was really upset and angry with Pansy when she knows that her best friend cheated her money. The two friends argue and Pansy threatens to move out. Chung did not stop her!

Cast of E.U. attends Police Recruitment Expo

TVB new series, E.U. started its run last week (February 16). In conjunction with the drama's run, the cast including Michael Miu, Kathy Chow, Elanne Kong, Sammul Chan, Leung Ka Kei and Michael Tse attended an Education and Careers Expo for police recruitment. The cast helped to hand out flyers.

Sammul Chan and Leung Ka Kei were the focus of the group. Both were injured earlier while promoting their new series. The reporters even go to the extend of telling Sammul that Ka Kei has feelings for him. This made Sammul blush like a tomato and he quickly walked away. Reporters continue to tease Sammul, saying that he should care for Ka Kei for her entire life as her injuries were sustained because of him. Sammul quickly clarify that bold statement, "Don't have to be that serious, she should have someone to take care of her for the rest of her life. But her injury was caused by me, I should apologize to her, I will boil some "pig brain" soup for her, she will boil fish maw soup for me."

Although there are still no official ratings yet for E.U., Michael thinks that the series has good discussion points and also praised the improved performance of Sammul and Ron Ng (since The Academy). Michael shares that many of his friends says that the series is good. This second sequel is also the most compact in the trilogy according to Michael. Michael then shares that he will be filming a new drama series in March with Maggie Cheung (Ho Yee).

Kathy Chow revealed that she tapes every episode so that she could enjoy later. After finishing the promo works for E.U. she will head to Shanghai to film a new series. Responding to comments that E.U. copies some movie scenes, Kathy explains, "It's about the same, cannot say that it's copied. The series has a movie feel to it. In TV series terms, it's quite a breakthrough. The series talks about Triads and selling pirated material. It could be said that there will be lots of discussions and controversial topics."

E.U. is Elanne Kong's virgin drama series. She explains that filming a series gives her a lot of stress. "When I go out, there are many people yelling out my character's name. Just two days ago, there was a little girl who called me 'Sister Piracy Girl' . There is a friend who said that my role is very rough, the first day of work, I had to yell at Ron. I NG-ed a lot!" Elanne explains further. Elanne shares that she is happy to be playing a rough girl's role and is looking forward to filming another series.

Pages of Treasures - Episode 10

Man Suk visits his old friend who owns a bookstore to show off the book Abbie got for him. He finds out that the landlord of the shop wants to sell off the unit. His friend's son advises his friend to end the bookstore's business as sales is not very encouraging.

Man Suk is interested to take over his friend's bookstore business. He discusses the idea with Yuk who is supportive of it. However, Man Suk realises that he cannot afford to buy over the business as all his savings are used to purchase the current house they are staying in.

Sammi plays tennis with Patrick and they bumped into Kei Kei. Kei Kei brings her new boyfriend (who is supposedly a very good player who has won numerous awards!) to show off to Sammi and Patrick. Patrick suggests they play a match to see who's the better player. Patrick wins the match and Kei Kei is filled with rage and shame! Sammi starts to fall for Patrick.

Sammi persuades her friends to go for a drink at Patrick's cafe. Upon entering the cafe, they see Patrick who is very smartly dressed. Patrick explained that some people will be coming over to use the cafe's space to film an ad. The model for the ad is Michelle, a very successful model who also happens to be Patrick's former schoolmate. Patrick seems to have an interest in her, and Sammi is a little jealous.

Abbie goes to the Fong household for dinner again. When she saw the dishes prepared by Yuk, she commented that there's too many meat-y dish and the calories for the meal is very high. She informs Yuk that they should not be consuming food with such high calories on a daily basis. After dinner, Yuk prepared homemade ice-cream for the children. When Abbie heard that dessert is ice-cream, she quickly run out from the house. Ming then explained to Yuk and Man Suk that Abbie doesn't like ice-cream because it reminds her of her bitter past.

Alex follows Abbie out of the house and tries hard to cheer her up. He reveals to Abbie that he actually composed a song for her as a birthday gift but he's sharing it with her now. He calls it their "love song"!

Pansy finds out that her colleague has been investing in China and earns quick cash. She also wants to be part of the investment group but has to fork out an initial investment sum of HKD 200,000. She doesn't have that much cash and came up with a story to borrow money from Chung. She says that she has a client who wants to sell her beauty vouchers worth HKD 200,000 for only HKD 100,000 but she doesn't have so much cash. As expected the soft-hearted Chung decides to lend her the amount.

Ming saw Hillary on the street dating with K.O. and informed Alex about it. Ming warns Alex that Hillary will use her sex appeal to get ahead in the company, but Alex told him that he is over-reacting.

K.O.'s wife visits Hillary at her apartment and scolds her. She also inform Hillary that she is pregnant with K.O.'s child and there is no way K.O. will leave them both for Hillary.

Hillary storms into K.O.'s office (and Alex was there) and confronts him. He tried to make excuses but Hillary slapped him and told him that their relationship is over!

Ming calls Alex to ask if he is leaving soon so that he could get a lift home. Alex asks Ming to meet him at the car park. Before leaving the office, Alex sees Hillary drinking in her room. He offers to send her home. Ming sees a drunk Hillary at the car park and made some sarcastic remarks. During the ride home, Ming purposely made comments about Abbie and Alex in front of Hillary.

When the brothers reach home, they had a discussion about Hillary and the discussion was over blown into an argument!

Pearl on the Palm Costume Fitting

Of late dramas centered around the theme of family disputes are doing remarkably well. Take a look at the success of Heart of Greed and Moonlight Resonance. In fact, Moonlight Resonance achieved the highest ratings ever for a TVB series. The success of these dramas also boost the popularity of the dramas' actors. Susanna Kwan was successful in her role as Sai Kai in Heart of Greed while Michelle Yim snagged the Best Actress Award at TVB 41st Anniversary Award for her role as Hung Yi in Moonlight Resonance.

It is natural for TVB to want to milk this cash cow. The next new drama to be centered around this theme is called Pearl on the Palm (掌上明珠) with cast including the talented Jessica Hsuan, Kiki Sheung, Michael Tao and Bowie Lam.

Pearl on the Palm will see Jessica taking on the role of the antagonist, her first "baddie" role in her 17 years with TVB. The story revolves around the tale of three sisters fighting for the family wealth, set amidst the jewellery business in the 60s. Jessica will play one of the sisters together with Kiki Sheung and Macy Chan.

The producer of Pearl on the Palm, Lam Chi Wah clarifies that it will not be the same as TVB's mega production (but flopped)The Gem of Life. He says while The Gem of Life is centered on business conflicts, Pearl on the Palm will be focused on the disputes within the family.

Synopsis:
Kong Sai Hau is released from prison in Taiwan. He intends to return to Hong Kong immediately to be reunited with his daughter, Yau Yau. Sai Hau wants to mend his broken relationship with Yau Yau. Sai Hau has a plan to revenge on the triad leader, Tin, who was the one who caused his incarceration in the first place. Sai Hau knows that in order to strengthen his influence in the gang, he also needs help from the police force and aims to draw two young policemen onto his side.

Lee Pak Kiu, who is attached to the Emergency Unit (E.U>) and Chung Lap Man from the Special Duty Squad are Sai Hau's targets. Pak Kiu is reluctant to mix with a gangster while Lap Man thinks that he can take advantage of his relationship with Sai Hau to combat crime. Lap Man eventually becomes close with Sai Hau but his closeness caused him his job. Lap Man was fired by the police force. Sai Hau takes Lap Man under his wings and Lap Man devotes himself entirely to the triads.

The triad leader, Tin, is always wary of Sai Hau and places his trusted follower, Siu Tong, to keep an eye on Sai Hau. Sai Hau retaliates by manipulating his relationship with Tin's wife, Yuk Sam to gain positions within the triads. Sai Hau eventually becomes the triad leader but the triad's illegal business keeps facing obstacles. Sai Hau then begins to question the loyalty of his triad members.

Note: E.U. is the third installment to "The Academy" Series. The first series is called The Academy (2005) while the second series is called On the First Beat (2007).

Pages of Treasures - Episode 9

Man Suk takes out all the children's former toys and belongings to reminisce. The children joined him and have a nice time talking a walk back into their childhood and school days.

The washing machine in the Fong household is broken. Man Suk attempt to fix it but end up creating a bigger mess. Man Suk messed with the plugs and caused the electric main switch to trip. The whole house suffers a blackout! Chung noticed that the Fong house is in darkness and brings over her emergency light. She also offers to let Yuk use her washing machine for their laundry until the Fongs get theirs fixed.

Alex prepares a through proposal for a major client and presents to K.O. However, K.O. wants him to prepare an alternative proposal as well for the client. K.O. intentionally makes life difficult for Alex.

Abbie goes over to the Fong's place for dinner. Earlier, Man Suk mentioned that he is looking for a collection of books but the collection is no longer available. However, thanks to the internet, Abbie managed to locate the whole collection and bought it for Man Suk. Man Suk is ecstatic and says that he will spend all his time reading the books and won't do anything else. The children heard his comment and is very happy.

Fai and his wife deliver braised pork in vinegar to Chung's house. They also called Ming over to enjoy the dish. Fai and his wife share with Chung and Ming that they are now living harmoniously with Lan Yee. Lan Yee is also enjoying being a grandmother and dotes on her little grandson. Chung is happy for them and Ming commented that she has a big heart.

Hillary reconciles with K.O. and shares the news with Alex. Alex commented that a relationship revolves around two people and outsiders are in no position to judge. What matters most is that the two people are genuinely happy. Hillary offers to buy Alex dinner to thank him for his help.

Alex agrees to give a speech about IT/computers at Sammi's school. Sammi's schoolmates like Alex and Sammi feels very proud of her second brother. Sammi's schoolmate also commented that the members of their school's computer club now idolises Alex.

After the talk, Sammi and her friends go to a nearby stall for tea. They bumped into Ming and his friends. Ming's friends are rude and talk very loudly. They also make lewd comments about women. Sammi and her friends overhear the conversation and are unhappy. Ming sees Sammi and goes over to say hello. Sammi is ashamed of Ming and his friends.

Sammi confronts Ming when he reached home. She also accuses him of following his friends to look for hookers. Ming denies this but Sammi insists that she is right. She also reveals that her friends are wary of Ming and he makes her look bad in front of them. She says that Alex is very cool and successful while Ming is rowdy and has no class.

Man Suk has a heart-to-heart talk with Sammi. He explains that Ming maybe a little socially inept as he spends 10 over years in Mauritius but he is a man with a good heart. The Fong family are now doing well thanks to Ming's efforts. He worked hard and slogged in Mauritius so he can help the family earn more money to supplement Alex's education and the family expenses. Man Suk tells Sammi that she cannot be so selfish and only thinks about herself. She must learn to care about the feelings of others.

Alex finds Ming in the park nearby their house and had a talk with him. Ming feels guilty for causing Sammi's unhappiness. However, Alex advises him that he should place his happiness ahead of others. Alex explains that Sammi is still young and she will value Ming's good heart one day.

Sammi seeks Alex's help to apologise to Ming, but Alex tells her to solve the problem herself. Sammi goes to Chung's shop to buy a miniature model as a gift for Ming. Sammi shares the whole story with Chung and asked Chung for help.

Chung's ex-mother-in-law, Lan Yee, called her to apologise for her earlier actions. She admits that she tricked Chung into believing that Fai did not return her the money when in actual fact, Fai did. Lan Yee asked Chung for forgiveness and understanding.

Man Suk feels bored staying at home after his retirement. He spends his time reading but he finishes the books very quickly. He also misses discussing about the books he read with other readers.

Man Suk feels lethargic and imagines himself being sick. Yuk accompanies him to the Chinese physician for a check up. The Chinese physician confirms that Man Suk is in the pink of health, although his body is a little heaty.

Yuk complains to Ming that Man Suk has too much time on his hands and tries to take over her daily duties. She also tells Ming that man Suk forces her to accompany him for taichi exercises every morning. Ming discusses with Sammi and Alex about Man Suk's conditions. The children decide to take turns to accompany Man Suk and have book discussions with him to keep him occupied.

Chung received a call from the old folk's home telling her that Lan Yee has fever and she refused to take any medication and food. Chung immediately rushed to the home to visit Lan Yee. Lan Yee confesses to Chung that she is afraid that if Chung remarries, then Chung would not have time to visit and care for her anymore. Chung assures Lan Yee that no matter what happens, she will always have time for Lan Yee. Ming overheard the conversation between Lan Yee and Chung and is finally convinced that Chung is a good person.

Alex was walking towards the men's bathroom when he saw Hillary marches past him and into the men's room too. He quickly chases after her but she storms ahead and slaps K.O. right across the face. (K.O. is both their boss!) They then have a meeting after the incident, but K.O. and Hillary act as though nothing had happened earlier. After work, K.O. follows Hillary into the car park and they have an argument about their relationship. It appears that K.O. and Hillary is in a romantic relationship, but K.O. has a wife. K.O. promises to divorce his wife soonest. Coincidentally, Alex drives past and Hillary stops him and gets into his car.

Alex offers to drop Hillary wherever she wants, but first he has to make a detour to pick Abbie up. Abbie and Hillary get along well and became fast friends.

Pansy is home alone for dinner as Chung has to work late. She was about to have her cup noodle when she spies into the Fong family's unit and sees them enjoying steamboat. On the pretext of boiling an extra cup of herbal tea for Yuk, she goes over to their unit. As the Fongs are hospitable people, they invite her to join them which she immediately agrees. Yuk notices that Pansy treats Ming quite well and starts to plan to get them together.

Synopsis:
Dik Yan Kit is one of the most celebrated and trusted chancellors of Empress Mo. Empress Mo's nephew, Mo Sing Chi, is jealous of Dik's success. Mo tries to sabotage Dik in every opportunity that he gets. Mo finally gets his golden chance when he accuses Dik for conspiring with his daughter, Dik Ching Lun's husband, Sung Ting Yuk of attempting to overthrow Empress Mo's throne.

Dik is disappointed and exasperated with Mo's actions.Under the influence of Mo, Empress Mo orders to capture all Dik's family members. Dik manages to escape but Mo threatens to kill his wife, Cho Yuet. Dik must find a way to right things and restore order before even more people are hurt by Mo's actions.

Gallen Lo engaged with Sophie Su

Born Rich actor, Gallen Lo recently announced his engagement with Mainland China's actress Sophie Su. The couple was engaged in a simple ceremony in Sophie's hometown, Beijing on January 30th.

Gallen, 46 and Sophie, 34 will be walking down the aisle later this year. The wedding will also be held in Beijing. Gallen shares that after the filming for Born Rich has wrapped up, he will be moving to Beijing to start his new family.

The couple met when they were both filming an EEG sponsored series, Beautiful Finale. Gallen and Sophie play a married couple in the series and as fate would have it, their on-screen romance was transferred to real-life.

A very excited Gallen describes this union as one arranged by the heavens. Gallen also shares what he sees in his new bride, "I finally was able to find someone who I could communicate with and has the same thinking as me".

This will be the first marriage for Sophie but the second marriage for Gallen. Gallen was previously married to Fong Man Yee and they have a son together.

Man Suk is very free after his retirement. He goes out in the mornings to buy breakfast for his family. He also asks Yuk to have lunch with him at a nearby eatery which has recently opened. However, Yuk says she wants to go to the bank to monitor the stock market first. Man Suk decides to follow Yuk there.

Yuk lost at the stock market that day and her friends also lose some money. Her friends commented that Yuk should not bring Man Suk along as he sits there the whole morning reading books. (Books are called shu in Cantonese which has the same tone as lose) Yuk's friends thinks that Man Suk's reading is the reason for their losses.

Man Suk goes to the old folks' home to visit his former employer, Tong Suk (who is also Kei Kei's grandfather). Tong Suk and two of his friends play a card game with Man Suk but Man Suk is confused with the game play.

Kei Kei visits Tong Suk at the old folks home. But she has ulterior motives. Kei Kei bought some snacks for Tong Suk which she knows that Tong Suk will reimburse her the amount. In fact she knows that Tong Suk will give her even more than the amount she paid. However Man Suk sees through her motives and told Tong Suk that it is dangerous for Kei Kei to be carrying so much cash on her. Man Suk advises Tong Suk to pay her little by little much to Kei Kei's disappointments.

Kei Kei is upset with Man Suk for foiling her plan so she played a trick on him. She intentionally throw a bottle at Man Suk's feet and caused him to trip and fall. Luckily Chung witnessed the whole incident and scolded Kei Kei. Man Suk thanked Chung and has a good impression of her.

Alex's boss praised him for a job well done for managing to solve the IT problem on his first day at work. Alex was humble and in return thanked Hillary for guiding the team well. Hillary admires Alex's working ethics and team spirit.

Alex confides to Ming that he has a two-year deal with Abbie. Ming advises him not to let their parents know about this. Alex explains that Abbie does not like Hong Kong because Hong Kong is a place of sorrow for her. Alex and Ming plan to change Abbie's impression by welcoming her to their family, which is full of warmth and love.

Alex brings Abbie home for dinner at his house. Abbie was very thoughtful and bought gifts for the family. Yuk even plans to cook Western food for Abbie's sake. Abbie offers to help in the kitchen. After dinner, the family shares Alex's childhood stories with Abbie.

Fai goes to the old folks' home to visit his mother but he got angry when he sees Chung there. He thought Chung was there to instigate his mother again. Fai told his mother that the lawyer advises her to drop the lawsuit against him. Chung accuses Fai of cheating his mother's savings but Fai insists that he has already returned the money (HKD 500,000) he borrowed from his mother for the downpayment of his house. In fact, he even gave his mother an additional HKD 500,000 when he sold the house. Chung claims that Fai is lying as she has seen his mother's bank savings book and there is only a few thousand dollars in the account.

Man Suk shares the story of Fai cheating his mother's savings with his family. Ming stood by Fai and says that Fai is a very trust-worthy person. Man Suk thinks that Fai's character is questionable. Ming blames Chung for being busybody to get herself entangled in the argument between the mother and son. Ming and Man Suk disagree on this matter, both insist that they are each right.

Chung visits her ex-mother-in-law again after getting a call from the nurse that she refuses to eat. In the midst of her visit, the fire alarm at the home goes off. Chung quickly asks her ex-mother-in-law to evacuate but she rushed back into the room. She wants to take the biscuit tin from under her bed first.

Once they are out of the building, Chung asks her ex-mother-in-law what is in the biscuit tin that is so important. She offers to help her ex-mother-in-law hold the tin, but her ex-mother-in-law refused. In the midst of pushing and pulling, the tin fell and its contents were exposed. There was HKD 500,000 in cash inside the tin. Apparently, Chung's ex-mother-in-law hid the money returned by Fai in the tin!

Ming heard the telephone conversation between Pansy and Chung and knows that Chung was cheated by her ex-mother-in-law. Pansy tells the whole story to Ming and he realises that Chung is not that bad after all.

Ming saw Fai's wife confronting Chung at the mall. She accuses Chung of instigating Fai's mother. Chung tells her that she no longer takes interest in the mother and son's problems. As Fai's wife scolds Chung, she suddenly experience cramps and needs to go into labour. Ming and Chung send her to the hospital.

Ming finally realises that Chung has a good heart and apologises to her. The two bickering enemies are now friends.

Pages of Treasures - Episode 6

Alex is still hurt from his break up with Abbie. However, when he sees that Man Suk and Yuk is happy that their whole family is finally together again, he knows that he made the right decision to remain in Hong Kong.

Alex and Ming begin their new job on the same day. They are also working in the same building - Alex in an IT company called INSS while Ming is the security guard servicing that building. While making his rounds, Ming caught two of Alex's subordinate smoking at the stairwell and warns them about their actions.

Alex misses Abbie terribly and vice-versa. After checking on Patrick's injuries, Abbie will return to US. She doesn't plan to let Alex know of her departure but Patrick secretly tells Alex.

On the first day of work, Alex's team has some problems which they must solve. Alex's colleague, Hillary (who was leading the team prior to Alex joining the team) and their teammates were working on the solution but was no where near solving the problem. In a short while, Alex managed to identify the problem and came out with the correct solution for it. This won Alex his teammates' respect and admiration.

After Man Suk's forced retirement, he is a very free man. He often visits his friends at the old folks home. One day, he bumped into Chung at the home. Chung went there to visit her former mother-in-law, who is also one of Man Suk's friends.

When Chung was there, the nurse informed her that her mother-in-law has not paid the fees for two months already. The nurse also inform Chung that they could not reach her ex-husband so Chung helped to settle the bill first.

Alex buys a new car and brings Abbie to the Peak. Unknown to Alex, the Peak is where Abbie's mother left her. Alex finally understands why Abbie refuses to return to Hong Kong. It's not because she is stubborn, it's because Hong Kong reminds Abbie of her painful past. She has never shared her past with anyone but Alex encourages her to share her past with him. He promises to stand by her through thick and thin. Alex persuades Abbie to reconcile with him. He tells Abbie to give herself two years to try and settle down in Hong Kong. If she still doesn't like Hong Kong after two years, then he promises her that they will move back to the US. Abbie agrees.

Chung's ex-husband went to her house to look for her. He was under the impression that Chung instigated his mother to sue him in court of law. Chung was angered by his comments and they both argued on the streets. Chung also scolded him for being inhuman as he cheats his own mother of all her savings.

Coincidentally, Ming returns home from dinner with his friends and saw Chung hitting her ex-husband. Chung's ex-husband is actually one of Ming's buddies. Ming impression of Chung deteriorates further.

Pansy takes the opportunity to move in with Chung. She claims that Chung needs company just in case her ex-husband, Fai, comes back for revenge. Chung is touched by Pansy's kind gestures.

Chung refuses to pay for the broken ship as she feels that Ming is unreasonable. Pansy tried to calm Ming down, saying that the broken part can easily be glued back together. Ming is further enraged when Chung calls the ship a "lousy ship". Man Suk explained to Chung that not only is the ship a special souvenir item from Mauritius it is also Ming's most important award which he received for being the Best Employee for 10 years!

Pansy offers to compensate Ming and asks Ming to name a price. Ming quickly says HKD 16, 000 (they amount he paid Chung earlier) but Chung refues to pay. Pansy offers to pay the amount but Ming refuses to accept the compensation from Pansy as he believes it wasn't pansy who broke his ship. At the same time, Chung is adamant that she did not break the ship and does not want Pansy to cover for her.

Pansy advises Chung and Ming to reach a compromise as they are after all neighbours. She even asks Chung to help Ming to repair the ship but Ming does not want Chung to touch his things. As he snatches the ship from Pansy's hands he knocked into the display shelf and the ship breaks into even more pieces. The ship is now beyond repair.

As too many unhappy occurrences are happening to the family, Man Suk and Yuk went to the temple and pray. They also seek the advise of a fortune teller. The fortune teller advises Man Suk to retire, says Ming will have obstacles when job hunting and Alex may not return to Hong Kong. They are upset with the fortune teller's interpretation of the notes (chim) and reinterpret the notes themselves.

Upon their return from the temple, Man Suk and Yuk discover that Alex has returned from US. They are very happy to see him. Yuk asks Alex about Abbie but Alex tells them that Abbie did not return with him. She is still in the US. Man Suk and Yuk is worried that Abbie will refuse to return to Hong Kong.

Man Suk and Yuk sends Ming to talk to Alex. Alex says Abbie is still mad at him and is very firm in her decision to remain in US. Ming advises Alex to continue to persuade Abbie. Abbie also threatens to break up with Alex.

Yuk bought durian for Ming. As Ming and Alex was going out to shop for furniture, they bumped into Pansy and Chung in the lift. Chung was not feeling well so Pansy wants to bring her to the doctor's. Suddenly the lift stops and the four of them are trapped inside the lift. Chung feels queezy and fainted in the lift. Ming offers to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on Chung. Chung manages to wake up after that but she thought it was Alex who helped her. When she finds out that it was Ming, she felt disgusted. She has to wash her mouth repeatedly with mouthwash to get rid of the durian taste.

Ming has an interview at a top security firm. He saw Chung waiting for taxi downstairs and both fought the first taxi that arrived. Ming lost to Chung in the taxi fight and ended up taking the bus instead. When Ming got out of the bus, he saw a thief stealing from someone on the street. Without thinking further, Ming gave chase. He managed to stop the thief and help that person recover his belongings.

Ming couldn't attend the interview as he has to go to the police station to give a statement. Coincidentally the person Ming helped is the HR manager at the security firm and his interviewer. The manager straight away offer Ming the job on the spot. Ming was happy and relieved.

Patrick and Alex meet up to play tennis. Alex confides in patrick that he misses Abbie and knows that Abbie still loves him. Patrick says he knows Abbie still loves Alex too. Alex suggest that Patrick should pretend to fall sick so that Abbie will return to Hong Kong to care for him. However, Patrick disagrees. As Patrick walks out of the tennis court, he falls and sprains his leg. Now he is hurt for real. Alex is convinced that Abbie will return to care for Patrick.

Sammi goes to Patrick's cafe to look for him. The waitress informs her that Patrick hurt his leg. Sammi was surprised to learn that Patrick is injured. Kei Kei (Sammi's school rival and the daughter of Man Suk's boss) reprimands Sammi for not being a responsible and caring girlfriend.The two girls then got into a fight ending with Sammi being soaked from head to toe and Kei Kei injured.

Kei Kei complains to her father that Sammi beat her up. Her father then brings her to the Fong household to settle this issue. Sammi explained that it was Kei Kei who ambushed her first but Kei Kei denied. Both fathers could not agree to settle the matter and in the heat of the moment, Man Suk punched his boss. Both families end up at the police station. Kei Kei's father decides not to sue Man Suk but fires him instead. Man Suk also has to agree to forgo his pension.

Alex receives a phone call from Patrick informing him that Abbie has returned to Hong Kong. She is with him at the hospital and Patrick asks Alex to quickly go over to meet her. Alex meets Abbie and begs her for another chance. Abbie says one way to solve their problem is break up but Alex explains that he has never given up on their relationship. However, Abbie insists that between her and his family, Alex can only choose one!

Man Suk and Yuk are happily preparing for Ching's (Alex's) stay in Hong Kong. However Alex has to return to US to settle some stuff first. He promises to return once everything in the States have been settled and taken care of.

Alex however, have yet to tell Abbie of his intention to remain in Hong Kong. They got into a huge argument as Abbie thinks Alex was inconsiderate to make the decision without consulting her.

Pansy convinces Chung to buy the apartment next to Ming's as she has already paid the deposit. If she decided not to continue with the purchase, the deposit would be forfeited. After hearing Pansy's logic, Chung decided to buy the apartment unit.

Pansy saw Yuk looking at apartment units nearby her office. She quickly intercept Yuk's conversation with another real estate agent and offer to treat Yuk to tea. Actually, Yuk has plans to tea with Ming, so she brought Pansy along. Pansy knew that Ming doesn't like her so she take the chance to change his perception of her.

Man Suk's boss has a habit of rewarding his daughter with cash. Man Suk disagrees with parenting style. His colleague, Hou tells him that the bookstore's business is not doing well. Their boss may consider reducing the bookstore's manpower. As such, Hou warns Man Suk to be careful when working and to avoid making mistakes. Man Suk shares this news with the family. Ming says that it's time for Man Suk to retire and enjoy life. But, Man Suk loves working at the bookstore too much to retire.

Man Suk and Yuk suspect that Alex has a disagreement with Abbie over his decision to remain in Hong Kong. They are worried that Alex's decision to stay in Hong Kong may result in him losing his girlfriend. Man Suk called Alex in US to ask him but Alex says that he is occupied and ends their telephone conversation abruptly. This makes Man Suk even more worried.

Sammi (Mei) invites Patrick to her house for dinner. Man Suk and Yuk grilled Patrick for news about Alex and Abbie. Patrick says Abiie is upset with Alex because Alex made the decision to remain in Hong Kong without consulting her. Abbie is afraid that she may not like Hong Kong's way of life and she is also worried about finding a job in Hong Kong. Man Suk and Yuk is worried that Alex may change his mind to remain in US for Abbie's sake.

Pansy make an appointment with Ming to meet up with Chung for them to discuss their settlement. Pansy knows that Ming is a filial son who doesn't want to worry his family, while Chung has her eyes on a television set. Pansy suggests that the compensation amount be HKD 16, 000 and Ming and Chung reluctantly agree to that figure.

Ming has a ship which he brought back from Mauritius. The ship is very important to him as it is the award he won for Best Employee. He is very proud of the ship and diligently cleans it.

Yuk invites Pansy and Chung to her house for Braised Ginger Pork. While Chung was in the toilet, Pansy looked around the house. She accidentally broke Ming's ship but as there were no witnesses she pretended as though nothing happened. After coming out from the toilet, Chung noticed that the ship has a broken part. As she picks it up, Ming and Man Suk came back. Ming accused Chung of destroying his ship for revenge, but Chung denied.
