Raymond Lam and Kenneth Ma film Return to the Three Kingdoms

Raymond Lam and Kenneth Ma were busy filming for TVB new series Return to the Three Kingdoms. The scene was about the army troops training at camp.

Raymond Lam Kenneth Ma Return to the Three Kingdoms

Raymond shared that his character, Chukot Leung is similar to his previous role in The Mysteries of Love, Kingsley. Both the characters talk a lot and Raymond had a tough time handling the scripts. "It's actually quite interesting because Kenneth Ma's lines are very modernized, while mines are so ancient, so the result is quite funny," revealed Raymond. If he had to choose, Raymond said that the script for [TMOL] is more difficult to memorise as there are professional physics terms and jargons to remember.

Raymond also divulged that he is indeed a fan of Three Kingdoms. He used to play the games franchise, and he also studied it in school.

The past month or so was definitely a challenge for Raymond as he was plagued by the "Mavis Pan relationship-photo leakage drama" but this professional artiste continue to work hard and stay focused. "I am just doing my part, I hope that everything will go well," clarified Raymond. After completing the filming for this series, Raymond will focus on his next cantonese album and concert. He revealed that he will not be taking a break as he already had one during the Lunar New Year period but hopes to get some time off later on for a family vacation. " It doesn't matter where we go, I just want to have more time with my family. I hope next year my wish will come true. I already mentioned it to my company," Raymond said.

Kenneth Ma's character is someone who travelled back in time from the modern world. Kenneth and Raymond have collaborated numerous times before and Kenneth has only good things to say about Raymond. Kenneth praised that Raymond is generous for treating them to snacks and drinks. Kenneth also added that Raymond is very professional on set and will not bring his personal problems to work. " didn't notice anything when he goes and leaves work. It's just the public is making the issue big, he is the victim," said Kenneth.

Producer Nelson Cheung talks about his work

TVB has many producers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and Nelson Cheung is one of them. Nelson has been involved in the industry for over 30 years. Some of Nelson's recent productions include You're Hired and D.I.E.

Producer Nelson Cheung TVB
Since young, Producer Nelson loves to watch comedies. The rapid development of the Hong Kong film industry has given Nelson the opportunity to get into productions and film work. He started his career at ATV in 1979 where he was a PA and subsequently promoted to director 2 years later. In 1985, Producer Nelson moved over to rival station TVB and was promoted to the role of Producer in 1989.

Nelson's productions One Step beyond, Love is Beautiful, Dicey Business as well as D.I.E and You're Hired moves his ahead of his peers and earned him a good reputation in the industry.

Producer Nelson is also adventurous and dares to create different yet interesting roles in his series. Back in 1991, he took a gamble and cast Dicky Cheung and Derek Wan for his comedy One Step Beyond. The gamble paid off when the pairing of Dicky and Derek left memorable impressions in viewers minds. More recently, he took another risk and cast TVB darling, Charmaine Sheh opposite Dayo Wong in You're Hired. This fresh pairing was such a tremendous success that left audiences asking for more.

Dayo Wong You're Hired TVB
Nelson gave credit to Dayo for the success of his partnership with Charmaine. He was full of praise for Dayo, "I really admire Dayo Wong. He is one talented performer and he is very hard working. Every time he does a series, he would do a lot of homework for it. From TV series to stand up comedy, he is the best. He is a very generous person, whatever new ideas he thinks of, he'll definitely share it with others. When filming series, he doesn't know that his acting is good, but he would look after other artistes, getting into character together."

Charmaine Sheh You're Hired TVB
Not forgetting Charmaine's effort and contribution, Nelson also gave her credit, "Charmaine, although she's one of the most popular actresses, but she really uses her heart to act. Not only does she fulfill the producer's requirements well, but many times she would give you many surprises along with it. So Dayo and Charmaine both give off good sparks. I also discovered that Charmaine really does have good comedy acting skills."

Nelson was also asked to comment on the rising crop of fadans and siusangs in TVB. He feels that Kenneth Ma's acting is solid while Tavia Yeung is contantly improving. "Tavia Yeung is like a military worker. Maybe it's because whatever role you give her, she will put all her effort into it for you, I have seen her improving all along."

Raymond Lam and Tavia Yeung collaborate in new detective series

Tavia Yeung Raymond Lam
Tavia Yeung (L) and Raymond Lam set to re-collaborate

Raymond Lam will be reunited with Tavia Yeung to film a new TV series for TVB tentatively titled 談情說案. Joining them is Kenneth Ma, of Man In Charge and Speech of Silence. Raymond and Tavia were previously paired in Golden Faith and worked together in Eternal Faith, Yummy Yummy, Heart of Greed, Moonlight Resonance, among others.

This new series will be a "sort-of" remake of popular Japanese TV series - Detective Galileo. Raymond will undertake the lead role as Galileo, a university professor who majors in Physics. Galileo believes that everything revolves around and has a connection to Science.

Raymond will be romantically linked to Tavia, who takes on the role of a criminal investigator. They will work as a pair to solve numerous criminal cases.

Raymond shares that he grew up reading detective novels. This will be his first time filming for the detective/investigation genre and it will be a new experience for him. However, Raymond disclosed that he has not watched the Japanese series before. "I don’t even have the time to watch the series that I have acted in, hence, time just does not permit me to watch other series." Raymond is not worried that audience will compare him with the Japanese actor, Masaharu Fukuyama who portrayed Galileo in the original series. In everything that you do, you will still be the subject of comparison, nevertheless, there are many differences, from the the scripts and plots to the actors and actresses with different portrayal of each roles and characters, I believe they are different altogether, explains Raymond.

This new series will also be the first time for Tavia to undertake a criminal investigator role. Tavia says, "This is a fresh new experience for me. The plot is also different, I certainly look forward to it." Tavia is not worried that viewers will compare this series with the original one. She explains that Producer Lau Ka Hou says that the series will also focus on relationships aside from the criminal cases.
