Moonlight Resonance - Episode 8

Tau Suk and Sa Yee wants to sue Jo Bao and Yan Hong for using their brandname - "Ka Ho Yuet Yuen". They want a compensation of HKD 50, 000, 000! Hor Ma disagrees with their decision to sue, but Tat Suk is very determined to go to court. Jo Bao and Yan Hong refused to pay the compensation but they know that they are in the wrong for "stealing" the brand. Upon the advise of their lawyer, they decided to tell lies in court.

They claim that Hor Ma gave the brandname to Jo Bao and Yan Hong on her own free will. Jo Bao said that Hor Ma is worried about the well-being of her 3 children who are staying with Jo Bao. Unfortunately, Tat Suk and Sa Yee lost the court case. The main reason Hor Ma's side lost was because if Jo Bao had indeed "stole" their brand then why does it take them so many years to file the suit.

Outside the courthouse, Sa Yee alleged that Yan Hong is a "drug dealer". Yan Hong is very upset and decided to sue Sa Yee for slander. Her lawyer said their chances of winning is even higher than the "brandname" case. Yuen and Chau tried to persuade Yan Hong to drop the matter but she was firm. Even Lai also support her decision.

To help Sa Yee, Hor Ma decided to go over to the Kam residence to discuss with Yan Hong and to apologise on Sa Yee's behalf. The children advise Hor Ma not to go, but she has no other options. She asks Nien Tze Yong (NTY) to accompany her there.

Yan Hong wants Sa Yee to apologise through all major newspapers and pay HKD 4, 000, 000 as compensation. She warns Lai and Jo Bao not to be soft-hearted regardless of what Hor Ma does - beg or kneel or cry. She wants to sue Sa Yee in court!

Hor Ma offers Yan Hong a HKD 200, 000 as compensation but she refused. Hor Ma continues to beg and apologise but to no avail. Yan Hong asks Gong to send Hor Ma home. But in the midst of all the ushering and shoving, Hor Ma falls down and injured her back. Even in pain, Hor Ma asks Yan Hong to accept the cheque but Yan Hong still refused.

Hor Ma had no other choice but to reveal how Yan Hong had instigated NTY to teach Ka to gamble in the stock markets. Hor Ma also reveals how Yan Hong had sent a young Chung over to Manchester to accompany Chau so that Chau won't be home-sick. Hor Ma also questioned why Yan Hong had spent so much money to spoil Chung with branded things while she made Chau work part-time to pay for her tuition fees. Hor Ma said Yan Hong wanted to make a useless child out of Chung, while she taught Chau to earn a living. Hor Ma again asks Yan Hong to accept the cheque but she was still adamant.

Chau then told Hor Ma not to beg anymore. She told Hor Ma that she'll pay the HKD 4, 000, 000 on Sa Yee's behalf. Even if she had to borrow from friends, she will get the money for Hor Ma. She feels that she's the guilty party for breaking up the Kam family and also robbed Chung of his childhood. In the end, Jo Bao accept the cheque and asks Hor Ma to quickly leave their house.
