Here's the Opening Theme for Rosy Business. I really like it. The theme song is sung by Ron Ng who plays the role of Tseung Pit Ching, the second son of Rice Baron, Tseung Kiu. He will eventually take over the family business.
I'm sharing this video as a tribute to the show. What a superb drama! Kudos to the producer, production crew and stellar cast! The script is good, the acting brilliant, and there was never a dull moment in the series.
The filming of new TVB drama Pearl on the Palm continues and is heading towards the home stretch. Michael Tao and Joyce Tang filmed a scene. They had fun working together and could not stop joking around, making the collaboration enjoyable and effortless.
Joyce expressed that she is happy working with Michael. Michael takes good care of Joyce during filming as he is buddies with Derek Kwok (Joyce's rumoured boyfriend). They filmed on location under hot weather. Michael feels that his right side of the face makes him looks good so Joyce stood on the left. Joyce joked that she is very compatible with Michael. "of course I'm only talking about being compatible in terms of camera angle," she clarified.
The cast for Laughing Movie has been confirmed. The film will feature big names such as Anthony Wong and Francis Ng as well as a few TVB stars including Johnson Lee, Wayne Lai and Kenny Wong, among others. However, the female lead for the film has not been cast. The female lead role, which is the character of Laughing's girlfriend, may fall into the hands of one of TVB's own Fa Dans. Fala Chen, Kate Tsui, Linda Chung and Bernice Liu were all considered for the leading role. Models Chrissie Chow and MCI Christine Kuo are also in the race for the lead role.
The Director reveals that he is currently involved in another film and does not have the time to be involved in the casting for Laughing movie. He explains that he has seen more than 10 girls for the role, but decision has not been made on who the role will go to.
TVB General Manager, Stephen Chan who attended another event was asked about this matter. Stephen says they have seen Kate Tsui and Chrissie Chow but their chances are not high. "We are hoping to use a new face, in the new few days, the decision should be made," Stephen explains.
Michael Tse's portrayal of Laughin in TVB drama Emergency Unit (EU) was so popular among fans that he landed a movie deal for the character. There will be a movie based on the life of Laughin pre-EU. The movie is a collaboration between TVB and Shaw Brothers.
The cast for the movie was announced recently at the film's Outdoor Garden Premiere Ceremony held at TVB City in Tseung Kwan O. The movie will be directed by Herman Yau. Big names from the HK film scene were casted - Anthony Wong, Francis Ng, Felix Wong, among others. As this is a collaboration with TVB, some of its stars were also casted to join Michael Tse. Wayne Lai, fresh from his fame in Rosy Business, Kenny Wong, Johnson Lee and Tracy Ip were all given roles in the movie.
Michael Tse shares that the storyline will cover 9 years of Laughin's life in the triads. He is also happy to be given the chance to work with Anthony Wong, Francis Ng, Felix Wong and even Eric Tsang, who will make a guest appearance.
Wayne Lai is happy to land a role in the film. He shares, "I will be playing an upright good character, my personality is a rude Police Sergeant. My job is to be on top of gangs like Laughing Gor, Anthony Wong and Francis Ng. When I see one, I will be one."
Anthony Wong reveals that he will be taking on the role of a triad leader and does not get along with Francis Ng, who is another triad leader and also Laughin's Tai Lo. Anthony says his character has 7 to girlfriends and Tracy Ip is one of them. She will be a lawyer in the movie. Francis Ng does not mind that he has less screen time compared to Michael Tse. "I suggested that the salary should give me in full, but don't need to give me the screen time in full. I need to go home and take care of my kids, but I still need to take out a month of my time for filming," he explains.
Raymond Lam is the ambassador for Orbis Eye Health. He made an appearance in Kowloon to officiate the opening ceremony for Orbis' latest campaign - Orbis Pin Campaign 2009. Raymond shares that he is shortsighted but his power is not very high. As such he would choose not to undergo Lasik Surgery. Raymond also has the chance to observe how eye surgery is performed.
Raymond is currently busy rehersing for his upcoming Let's Get Wet concert at the Coliseum. Raymond also teased fans that he will make an appearance in an "airy attire" at the concert.
Besides rehearsing for the concert, Raymond is also busy filming. "I’m still filming, therefore, I am working-out moderately. But I do hope that by then I will be able to flaunt a somewhat Summer Feel to everyone. Moreover, this is a new experience for me having a show at the Coliseum, I’m pretty sure there will be surprises in store," explains Raymond.
Episode 29
Wu Sir is worried about Lap Man and calls him repeatedly. However, Lap Man is unreachable. Wu Sir checks with Pak Kiu if he has seen Lap Man, but Pak Kiu denies. Wu Sir asks Pak Kiu to send a team to look for Lap Man.
Yuk Bo finds Fa Si Lai at home. Fa Si Lai says she feels unwell and has problems sleeping at night. She even dreams of Sam Jie. Yuk Bo lies to Fa Si Lai and tells her that Sam Jie called home in the morning. Pak Kiu was the one who answered the phone. Fa Si Lai felt better after knowing that Sam Jie had called home. When Pak Kiu returns, Fa Si Lai asked him about the call. Pak Kiu did not know about the white lie so he could not answer Fa Si Lai. Fa Si Lai caught Pak Kiu and Yuk Bo lying and knows that something has happened to Sam Jie. She forced the truth out of them.
Fa Si Lai goes to Hau Ko's house to beg him for information on Sam Jie. Hau Ko tells them that he no longer loves Sam Jie so they had broken up. He doesn't know her whereabouts. Even Yau Yau asked Hau Ko to tell them where Sam Jie is but Hau Ko insist he doesn't know. Yau Yau is upset with Hau Ko and storms off to her room.
Lap Man uses his identity as "Lucky Prince" to cheer Yau Yau up via her blog. Yau Yau says Sam Jie once told her that it doesn't matter if a person is good or bad. As long as that person treats her well, then that person is a good person. However, now that her "good" father has hurt her beloved Sam Jie, she doesn't know what to think of him anymore.
Hau Ko tells Lap Man that he has an assignment for him, and asks Lap Man to be on standby. This assignment is once again another test set up by Hau Ko to test Lap Man's loyalty. Hau Ko asks Lap Man to carry drugs and at the same time he tipped off the police. While Lap Man was taking the packet of drugs, he was cornered by the police. He tries to escape inside a building, but he has no way out. The only way is up. The police continues to pursue Lap Man.
Chuen Suk managed to follow Lap Man all the way up to the rooftop. Lap Man leap from the rooftop to the rooftop of the next building. Chuen Suk follow suit but could not make it and slipped. He held on to some cables but the cables kept slipping so Lap Man quickly grabbed the cables to help Chuen Suk. Lap Man then realised that his identity has been compromised as Hau Ko and Chung were watching him from another building. Hau Ko is convinced that Lap Man is an undercover cop!
Wu Sir orders Pak Kiu and Chuen Suk to arrest Lap Man. He says Lap Man has gone overboard with his actions and wants him arrested. Pak Kiu and Chuen Suk tried to reason with Wu Sir and tells him to investigate thoroughly first, but Wu Sir insists on arresting Lap Man.
Lap Man is now holding on to the packet of drugs that he carried earlier. Wu Sir calls him and orders him to return to the safe house immediately and hand over the drugs to the police. On the other hand, Chung calls Lap Man and tells him to bring the drugs and meet Hau Ko. Lap Man has to decide which side he is going to listen to. He flips a coin to decide.
Hau Ko tells Yau Yau that Lap Man will not be coming home anymore as he is an undercover cop. Yau Yau was shocked that Hau Ko has discovered Lap Man's identity. Hau Ko was even more enraged that Yau Yau has concealed this important piece of information from him. He tells Yau Yau that Lap Man does not love her and only pretends to be with her to get close to him. Yau Yau tells Hau Ko that he has changed and is now a terrifying, cold-hearted person. She does not know who he is anymore.
Yau Yau tries to tell Lap Man that Hau Ko is looking for him. However, Hau Ko heard her talking on the phone and interrupt her call. He pulls a gun at Yau Yau. Lap Man hears Yau Yau screaming on the phone and is worried. Even though he knows that his life is at risk, he still goes to the house to look for Yau Yau.
Hau Ko sarcastically praise Lap Man for being brave. He dares to meet Hau Ko even though he knows that his identity has been revealed. Lap Man says he is prepared to die, but wants Hau Ko to spare Yau Yau as she is innocent. Hau Ko wants Lap Man to die for Yau Yau and pulls the trigger on him. But the gun was blank. He spared Lap Man his life for Yau Yau's sake. It was only a test to see if Lap Man's love for Yau Yau is real.
Hau Ko and Lap Man have a argument about what is right and what is wrong. Hau Ko says that triads exist first before police. He convinces Lap Man to work with him in the triads and leave the police force. Hau Ko tells him that together they can achieve great things. Hau Ko tells Lap Man that he has gone overboard being an undercover, the police force would not want him anymore.
Wu Sir calls for a meeting with his staff in OCTB and arranges a new task for them. He wants them to target the new triad leader in Chun Hing - Lap Man! He orders them to arrest Lap Man and get enough evidance to charge him in court.
Pak Kiu looks for Wu Sir to ask Wu Sir the rationale in arresting Lap Man. Wu Sir says Lap Man is beyond control now and lacks discipline. He is not sure if Lap Man has defected to the "bad" side. Wu Sir tells Pak Kiu that by arresting Lap Man, only they can find out from him the exact situation.
Lap Man's status as an undercover cop is known by everyone in Chun Hing. All the leaders are hunting for him. At the same time, the police is also looking for him. Lap Man now has no where to escape as he is wanted by both the police and the triads. Lap Man runs to Hau Ko and tells him that he wants to follow Hau Ko. Hau Ko welcomes him back into Chun Hing.
Chiu Sir visits Fa Si Lai at Oi Sam Ook. He notices that Oi Sam Ook's electricity bill is extremely high. He offers to help Fa Si Lai check the main switch. Fa Si Lai asks Chiu Sir to help her lock up the place as she is rushing to the hospital to check on Pak Kiu (who was injured when he tried to arrest Lap Man). While checking the main switch, Chiu Sir discovers the drug factory. One of the workers make Chiu Sir unconscious and deliver his body to Hau Ko. Hau Ko tells Lap Man and Chung that "only dead people can keep secrets". When Chung was going to shoot Chiu Sir, Lap Man offer to do it instead. He intentionally shoot to the side of Chiu Sir's heart and tells Chiu Sir to hang on!

From a conversation with Fa Si Lai, Pak Kiu is able to figure out that Hau Ko has set up the drug production factory at Oi Sam Ook. Pak Kiu was about to inform Wu Sir the latest development when he receives an SMS from Lap Man. Pak Kiu gather all his staff for an operation to arrest Hau Ko at Oi Sam Ook.
Pak Kiu made all necessary arrangements to corner Hau Ko at Oi Sam Ook. Hau Ko appears at the drug factory with Lap Man, Chung and another worker. When they were about to enter into the drug making area, Pak Kiu reveals himself. Upon further checking of the place, he discovered that the place is empty! The whole area has been cleaned and cleared. Lap Man tricked Pak Kiu! Hau Ko now believes that Lap Man is 100% on his side.
Wu Sir gave Pak Kiu a dressing down for going ahead with the operation without getting his permission. Pak Kiu admits that Wu Sir will not give him the green light as he lacks storng evidence, thus he decided to proceed without informing Wu Sir. Wu Sir tells him that the police force is all about discipline and he cannot act as he pleases.
Hau Ko praises Lap Man for alerting them about the police visit. Lap Man also suggests to Hau Ko that they should re-use the drug production factory in Oi Sam Ook. He reasons that the police would not guess that they would actually re-use the kitchen. Chung agrees with Lap Man.
Fa Si Lai goes to Hau Ko's house again. She begs Yau Yau to help her. She tells Yau Yau that Hau Ko causes Pak Kiu to be investigated and Chiu Sir is hanging on life support at the hospital. Yau Yau says she is unaware of Hau Ko's actions. When Hau Ko appears, Fa Si Lai kneels and begs him to tell her where Sam Jie is and to let Pak Kiu off the hook.
After Fa Si Lai left, Yau Yau tells Hau Ko to let Fa Si Lai knows where Sam Jie's body is. Yau Yau says Sam Jie is like family to her and loves her a lot. Yau Yau says if Hau Ko really did kill Sam Jie, then he should get the justified punishement for his actions. Hau Ko asks her if she wants to see him back in prison again. Yau Yau says YES! She says no matter how long Hau ko will be imprisoned, Sam Jie will never live again. Lap Man tries to console Yau Yau. Yau Yau says previously she turned a blind eye to Hau Ko's actions as she knows that he loves her. However, now that she knows that Hau Ko killed Sam Jie and hurt so many people, she could no longer pretend that Hau Ko is a "good" person.
Lap Man persuades Yau Yau to take over Oi Sam Ook. He tells Yau Yau that Sam Jie has put in so much effort into Oi Sam Ook and it would be a waste to shut it down. He says Sam Jie will be very happy to know that Yau Yau is taking over. Yau Yau agrees to take over and continue Sam Jie's efforts.
Hau Ko tells Lap Man that there will be new drugs arriving. Chung says the drug factory has been re-set up and can be used anytime. However he cautions that since Oi sam Ook is no longer in operation, they have to be careful. Lap Man says he has found a new proprietor for Oi Sam Ook - Yau Yau! He explains that with Yau Yau handling the restaurant, the police will be fooled. They will never imagined that Hau Ko will put his own daughter at risk. Hau Ko agrees and says Lap Man did well. He says one has to be evil and not let emotions cloud them to be successful.
Pak Kiu vists Chiu Sir at the hospital. He then receives a message from Chiu Sir's number saying "meet at the usual place". He was puzzled.
Lap Man brings the newly arrived drugs to the drug factory. Upon entering the drug factory, his handphone has been confiscated and kept in a drawer. This is to prevent anyone on the inside from communicating with those on the outside. The drugmaker discovered that the drugs are problematic. They contain foreign elements and could not be processed. Chung calls Hau Ko to the factory. Suddenly, they hear some noise from outside (Oi Sam Ook's kitchen). Rightfully, there shouldn't be anyone working in the restaurant. Lap Man says only Yau Yau has the keys and it could possibly be her. Hau Ko calls Yau Yau and they can hear her phone ringing. So it's confirmed that Yau Yau is in Oi Sam Ook.
Lap Man suggests that they quickly rescue the problematic drugs and only leave after Yau Yau has left. Chung disagrees, saying that Hau Ko seldom visit the factory. Why is it that during his current visit there are so many problems. Chung says something is not right and they decide to flee from the backdoor. However, the backdoor cannot be opened. The lock has been tempered with and the keyhole is blocked. Hau Ko pulls out his gun and asks among them who has betrayed the team. Everyone present pleads their innocence. Hau Ko tells them to cut open the lock.
Lap Man's Flashback
Lap Man has planned a trap to arrest Hau Ko. Earlier, he stuffed glue into the key holes of the backdoor at the drug factory. He then used Chiu Sir's mobile (which he took before he fired a shot at Chiu Sir) to send a text message to Pak Kiu, telling him to "meet at the usual place". Pak Kiu goes to the abandoned house to meet Lap Man. Lap Man tells him that he was the one who shot Chiu Sir. He explains that if Chung were to fire that shot, Chiu Sir would definitely be dead.
Pak Kiu demands an explanation from Lap Man about the botched arrest attempt on Hau Ko. Lap Man tells Pak Kiu that he has to put up the show to re-gain Hau Ko's complete trust. Lap Man tells Pak Kiu that Oi Sam Ook is still the drug factory and asks Pak Kiu to inform Wu Sir. Lap Man says he will temper with the drugs so that Hau Ko will show up at the factory. Lap Man will try to prolong the time Hau Ko stays at the factory so that the police will have enough time to show up. He also tells Pak Kiu that he will not have access to his phone the moment he enters the factory. Lap Man asks Pak Kiu to trust him as this is the only one chance they have to arrest Hau Ko!
Lap Man explains that he would use Yau Yau to prolong Hau Ko's stay in the factory. He will ask Yau Yau to meet him at Oi Sam Ook, so they could discuss about her relationship with Hau Ko. Yau Yau agrees as she does not want carry on hating her father.
Lap Man's Flashback ends
Hau Ko's worker is still trying to break open the backdoor so that they could escape. Yau Yau is cooking in the kitchen when the police arrives. Wu Sir tasked Pak Kiu to bring Yau Yau to a safe place. Wu Sir leads the team and they tries to break open the door to the drug making area, while at the same time the backdoor is opened. Chung tells Lap Man to protect Hau Ko and escape first while he fends off the police. Wu Sir manages to shoot Chung. Lap Man guides Hau Ko to escape.
Lap Man and Hau Ko escaped via the back alley. Hau Ko stopped for a moment to think. He then realised that Lap pMan is the one who tipped off the police. He fires at Lap Man, but Lap Man narrowly missed the shot. Pak Kiu who packed off Yau Yau in a taxi to go home, heard the shot and rushed over to check. Yau Yau also heard the shot in the taxi. Lap Man and Hau Ko struggles for Hau Ko's gun. Hau Ko accuses Lap Man of betraying him, but Lap Man tells him that he is wrong. Lap Man was NEVER his man to begin with! He has one aim which is to arrest Hau Ko.
Hau Ko and Lap Man fired shots at one another. Hau Ko fired a shot which hit Lap Man's right wrist. Wu Sir sends Chuen Suk and another officer to check on Lap Man. Hau Ko fired another shot at Lap Man's leg. Pak Kiu appears on the scene. Hau Ko then changed his target and fires at Pak Kiu. Pak Kiu picked up Lap Man's gun and aimed at Hau Ko. Hau Ko challenged him to fire it and called him a coward. Hau Ko fired at Pak Kiu and missed. It turned out that was the last bullet in his gun, so he flee from the spot. At the same time, Chuen Suk arrived.
Hau Ko runs out to the main street and sees Yau Yau in a taxi. She stopped the taxi and tells Hau Ko to quickly get on. Hau Ko hesitates. He is convinced that Yau Yau hates him more than she loves him and would never want to help him. He refused to get on and runs across the street. An oncoming car could not brake on time and hit Hau Ko. The driver and passengers in the car are all high on drugs!
Hau Ko has been arrested. Pak Kiu and Lap Man visit Lee Sir's (Pak Kiu's father) grave. Lap Man leaves his whistle (silver award from PTS) at Lee Sir's grave. Without a word to Pak Kiu, he walks away. Pak Kiu follows after Lap Man and asks him if he is really considering leaving the police force. Lap Man says he acts rashly and it is valid that Wu Sir had given up on him. Pak Kiu tells him that Wu Sir or the police force had never given up on him. It was La Ba (his friend and Yau Yau's former housemate) who was the one who spreads that Lap Man is an undercover cop.
Chiu Sir has woken up from his coma. He was questioned by the police if he could recognise his attackers. He claims that he was blindfolded, so he could not identify anyone.
Yau Yau visits Hau Ko in prison. The prison authorities tells her that Hau Ko attempts to commit suicide in prison. Yau Yau tells Hau Ko that he owes her too much, and has to repay his debts to her. She asks him to promise her that he will stay alive. She tells him that she will always be his daughter, and he her father. Yau Yau managed to persuade Hau ko to reveal where Sam Jie was burried. Fa Si Lai is happy that they are finally able to locate her body and she has a final resting place. Yuk Bo offers Yau Yau a place in their home but Yau Yau says that she will be travelling to clear her mind.
Lap Man visits the tree which he shares with Yau Yau and discover a note for him. The note is from Yau Yau. Yau Yau says that she has never blamed him for taking advantage of her to get close to Hau Ko, as their relationship from the beginning was already based on pretence. It started with her being a pirated DVD seller prentending to be a Princess on her blog while Lap Man is the Lucky Prince who left her comments, but he pretends otherwise. Then they pretend to date, for the sake of her blog entry, and then subsequently they actually dated. She also pretends that Lap Man is not an undercover cop, while Lap Man pretend that he never used Yau Yau to get close to Hau Ko. Yau Yau writes in the note that she could no longer keep track on who is pretending while who isn't.
She tells Lap Man that she truly believes that he had loved her once. He also brings her gifts - helping her to reconcile with Hau Ko, making her a real "Princess", who has a real family and loved by all. However, Yau Yau admits that too much has happened and they could no longer be together but she will always cherish him.
Lap Man carved a reply on the tree trunk for Yau Yau. The message reads, "You are the one I love most. Regardless of time, I will always wait for you. And earn your fogiveness."
Chiu Sir resumes duty and has switched to be a driver for EU. Yuk Bo has matured and is now an ICPC for her EU team. Lap Man reports for duty and is assigned to Pak Kiu's OCTB team.
TVB is scheduled to film a new sitcom soon as Off Peddler will be ending it's run. The new sitcom, Queen of the Office, stars Liza Wang, Denise Ho, Chapman To, Ron Ng among others. This is Liza's first sitcom and also her first collaboration with Chapman and Denise.
Liza, who tied the know with long time boyfriend Law Kar Ying in Las Vegas early this month, report for work upon her return from her honeymoon. She appeared at the costume fitting ceremony with a new hairstyle. Liza seems to be in a happy and looked even more radiant. Liza's character in the sitcom is a secretary and filming will mostly take place in shopping malls.
The filming for Queen of the Office will start end of May and will take about four months to complete.
Chapman To will also take on the role of a secretary in the series. Denise is making a comeback to TVB after a 10-year hiatus. The last time she filmed for TVB was for Anti Crime Squad. Denise admits that filming with Liza doesn't make her nervous, but she is worried about being late.
Denise will take on the role of an office manager and will constantly be bickering with Liza. She admits that the bickering part will pose quite a challenge as Liza is a respectable figure but her character requires her to yell at Liza instead. Her character will also be involved with Chapman's character romantically.
Sheren Tang, Kiki Sheung, Kara Hui and Wayne Lai were among the cast of Rosy Business who were at the recording of Club Sparkle recently. They were asked about rumours that the four artistes who play the four wives of Tseung Kiu (Elliot Yue) apparently do not get along.
Wayne, being the neutral party, was asked about this. The rumour apparently alleged that Sheren Tang is the one who does not get along with the others. Wayne replies, "Not getting along?! Of course not, this is just a rumor!"
Rosy Business is a big hit among TV viewers and there are many speculations about the ending of the drama series. Wayne says the Producer felt that the current ending is the most perfect one. Thus, he feels that there will not be a sequel to Rosy Business.
Sheren feels happy that the drama series is doing well. She says the script is a really good one and it couldn't have been better. "I chase the series myself, friends invite me out for dinner, I don't go. I rather stay home and watch TV. Currently the economy is not good, therefore families should stay home and watch TV together. Spend more time together with family members and maintain the good relationship," Sheren explains.
The ratings for Rosy Business is improving by the week. On Monday the drama series hit 37 points. To celebrate the success of the drama series, the cast members treated the whole production team to a dinner.
Wayne Lai was once quoted as saying that he would treat the cast and crew to a dinner meal on his own. However, for this celebration dinner, most of the cast pitch in a portion. Wayne clarifies, "The cast treated the crew for tonight’s dinner. Since everyone pitches in the same amount, there is no need for one person to fight to pay the entire bill. Everyone is happy. It is not important whether we treat or not. The most important thing is that we watch the final episode at the shopping mall together with the audience. The atmosphere will be very exciting!"
A tabloid magazine recently spotted some flaws in Rosy Business. According to the magazine, there were some shots in the drama which has modern high rise buildings in the background. Wayne explains, "The stills showcase a different viewpoint. These buildings should not appear onscreen in the background. If they truly do, I hope everyone is understanding of the mistake."
Sheren Tang, who plays the role of Po Kei (Tseung Kiu's 4th wife), was the one who suggested to TVB executive, Stephen Chan to organise a dinner at a shopping mall. Sheren was proud of the success of Rosy Business and thanked the audience for their active discussions about the drama. Sheren says it would be even better if the dinner proceeds could go to charity!
Sheren also expressed her confidence in the ratings of Rosy Business. Sheren thinks that the ratings may breech the 40 points mark and attributes the success to the strong cast in the series. "In the future, actresses should not be afraid of filming before a high-definition camera. If own possesses strong acting skills, that would suffice," she says.
Nancy Wu was happy that she was picked to act in Rosy Business. Nancy says originally the role was given to Claire Yiu but Claire got pregnant. So the role was given to her instead.
Jessica Hsuan and Michael Tao were filming a scene from new TVB drama Pearl on the Palm in Sai Kung. The scene they were filming revolves around Michael saving Jessica from an explosion, but Michael was hurt. He was "stabbed" in the back by a piece of wood. Michael and Jessica went to an abandoned house to pay ransom but it was a bomb trap. As a result from hurting his back, Michael's character will be paralyzed from this accident.
The crew prepped the scene well, applying all necessary precautions to prevent any accident from happening. However, Jessica was accidentally hurt when a wooden box fell to the ground. The box contains props for the bomb and burnt the edge of Jessica's foot. Jessica was in pain and her ankle was swollen.
Pearl on the Palm will wrap up filming at the end of the month. Michael reveals that they have another scene which involves fire which they have not filmed yet. Jessica shares that she will be taking a break after she completes filming for this series. Jessica says, "Last year I already said I would take it, but Bobby Au Yeung told me to participate in A Pillow Case of Mystery II, so I did! This year I'm not gonna film anymore! Actually I arranged a trip with my old classmates, but because of the news on H1N1 Influenza, I am a little disappointed! Because the old classmates brought their kids along too, we planned it all and now I'm not even sure if there will be another chance to make the trip work out!"
Episode 27
Wu Sir had a talk with Pak Kiu to persuade him to reconsider his decision to resign. Hau Ko and Chung saw them coming out from the shooting range. Hau Ko assigns Chung to follow Pak Kiu while he follows Wu Sir. Wu Sir leads Hau Ko into a dead end.
Wu Sir warns Hau Ko that he will be punished for his crimes. Wu Sir says the whole police force is working hard to arrest Hau Ko. Hau Ko brushed off Wu Sir's comments and calls him naive. Hau Ko says the most the police can do is to place more undercovers in Chun Hing. He tells Wu Sir that he knows there are two undercovers in Chun Hing, but one is already dead. Wu Sir is confident that Hau Ko does not know who the other undercover is. Wu Sir says if Hau Ko knew, he would already finished off that person.
Chung follows Pak Kiu and sees that he is meeting up with Sam Jie. Sam Jie calls Pak Kiu out to offer prayers to Laughin as that is the last seventh day of his death. Sam Jie says she will prepare a plague for Laughin and asks Pak Kiu to offer prayers on her behalf in case she is not around.
Chung reports Pak Kiu and Sam Jie's meeting to Hau Ko. Hau Ko begins to suspect Sam Jie and asks Chung his perception of her. Chung says Sam Jie is a nice person all round but she cannot be taken lightly as she has managed to say with Tin Ko for so many years. Hau Ko tells Chung about the secret listening device found in Sam Jie's necklace. Hau Ko also tells Chung that there may be another undercover cop in Chun Hing.
Yau Yau calls Lap Man to meet her at a restaurant. Upon reaching the restaurant, Lap Man sees someone with Yau Yau. Yau Yau has arranged for a lawyer to officiate their wedding. When Lap Man finds out what Yau Yau has planned, he disagrees to continue with it. Yau Yau is upset that Lap Man refuses to proceed with the ceremony and storms off.
Lap Man chases after Yau Yau and tries to explain. He admits that he is not ready to marry Yau Yau. Yau Yau asks him if he plans to ever marry her. She tell Lap Man that she already knows his real identity (undercover cop). Lap Man asks Yau Yau why she wants to marry him if she already found out who he is. Yau Yau says she's doing that to protect him from Hau Ko. Yau Yau accuses Lap Man of cheating her emotions just to get close to Hau Ko but Lap Man denies. He says he is true to Yau Yau since the first day they met. All his feelings for her is true.
Lap Man tells Wu Sir that his indentity may have been exposed. Wu Sir is very concerned and orders Lap Man to remain in the safe house for the time being. Lap Man refuse as he is determined to capture Hau Ko. Wu Sir disagrees as Lap Man will be risking his life. Wu Sir finally agrees to continue with the program but tells Lap Man to stay in the safe house for a period of time until the situation is safe for him to return to Hau Ko's side.
Yau Yau tries to contact Lap Man but failed. She cries to Sam Jie and tells Sam Jie that she had a confrontation with Lap Man. She also tells Sam Jie that she could not locate Lap Man. She is worried that Lap Man is plotting on how to bring Hau Ko down. Sam Jie says Yau Yau should feel it in her heart whether Lap Man is true to her or only using her. She knows Yau Yau is genuinely worried for Lap Man too. Sam Jie assures Yau Yau she will think of a plan to solve this problem.
Sam Jie prepares dessert for Hau Ko. She asks Hau Ko if he ever thought of leaving Chun Hing. Sam Jie shares with Hau Ko her fears of him "disappearing", just like Laughin and Tin Ko. Hau Ko says it's not easy to just "let go". Sam Jie suggests to Hau Ko to migrate to another country. She says she could not afford to lose Hau Ko as he is the most important person in her life. Hau Ko agrees to Sam Jie's request.
Yuk Bo tells Pak Kiu a case that she encountered while on duty. She met a fellow policewoman who was inspired by another policeman. That policeman she was talking about is actually Pak Kiu. Pak Kiu remembers the incident well and reflects on the reasons he became a police officer. The next morning, Yuk Bo goes for her usual morning jog. To her surprise, Pak Kiu joins her.
Sam Jie and Hau Ko tells Fa Si Lai their intention to get married. Sam Jie says she doesn't plan to have a banquet dinner. Yuk Bo and Pak Kiu came home and was displeased to see Hau Ko in their house. Yuk Bo opposes Sam Jie's marriage to Hau Ko. Sam Jie explains that she and Hau Ko will have their wedding on a cruise and then migrate to another country. Hau Ko will also leave Chun Hing and not meddle in Chun Hing's business after their wedding.
Sam Jie shares the news of her impending marriage with Yau Yau. Yau Yau was delighted and together with Sam Jie cooked a lavish dinner for Hau Ko. Hau Ko asked Yau Yau about Lap Man. Yau Yau lies to Hau Ko and says Lap man has to visit his sick mother overseas. Chung drops by during dinner and congratulates Sam Jie and Hau Ko.
Hau Ko bring Sam Jie to a remote place. He tells Sam Jie that he has been hiding something from her. Hau Ko promises to be truthful to Sam Jie from that point onwards as they will be husband and wife soon. Hau Ko confessed that he was the one who planned Tin Ko's death. He was the one who tipped off the police. He also planned Tin Ko's abduction during police transport. Sam Jie was shocked to hear Hau Ko's confession. Hau Ko tells her that he purposely attacked Chung to gain her trust and support to be the leader of Chun Hing. Hau Ko gave Sam Jie the gun and asked her to shoot him to revenge for Tin Ko.
Episode 28
Sam Jie is unable to point the gun at Hau Ko and instead dropped it. She walks away from Hau Ko and went to visit Tin Ko at the columbarium. She apologised to Tin Ko as she has sided and fallen in love with the "enemy".
Sam Jie goes home and was greeted by Fa Si Lai and Yuk Bo. They each gave Sam Jie jewellery as her wedding gift. Seeing both her mother and sister so happy, Sam Jie does not have the heart to inform them about the latest developments with Hau Ko. Fa Si Lai lament that she will once again miss Sam Jie's wedding as Sam Jie and Hau Ko will have their wedding on a cruise. Fa Si Lai tells Sam Jie to take good care of herself.
Sam Jie receives a call from her staff telling her there's a stench coming from the kitchen. Sam Jie says she will check on it. She found a dead rat in the kitchen. But she also discovered the hidden door to the concealed kitchen where drugs are produced.
Sam Jie was stunned by her discovery. She quickly called Fa Si Lai and tells her not to return to Oi Sam Ook from the next day onwards. She then called Pak Kiu out to clarify some matters with him. She asked Pak Kiu questions hypothetically - if she was not aware of what was happening in her kitchen, will she be implicated too as the owner of the place? Pak Kiu was worried and sense that something is wrong.
It appears Chung was the one who intentionally let Sam Jie "discover" the drug factory. He did it without discussing with Hau Ko because he wants to test Sam Jie's loyalty. Chung tells Hau Ko that after Sam Jie discovered the factory, the first thing she did was to look for Pak Kiu. This "clearly" shows where her loyalty lies. Chung says if Sam Jie choose to betray Hau Ko, she will call Hau Ko to Oi Sam Ook and tip off the police.
Sam Jie calls Hau Ko to Oi Sam Ook, but did not tip off the police. However, Hau Ko doesn't know that and thinks she has betrayed him. He goes to Oi Sam Ook fully prepared with a loaded gun. Sam Jie cooked some stuff for Hau Ko to eat. While eating, Hau Ko and Sam Jie talked about the first time they met till what the events that happened recently. Pak Kiu sends Sam Jie an SMS telling her to reveal what Hau Ko had done, but Sam Jie replies, saying she chooses to believe that Hau Ko had really loved her.
Hau Ko brings Sam Jie into the factory. He tasted the drug in front of her, which was actually Chrysanthemum essence. Hau Ko accuses Sam Jie of providing information about Chun Hing's drug factory to the police. On the other hand, Sam Jie was shocked to learn that Hau Ko had set up the trap to test her. She was shocked to know that Hau Ko has never trusted her. Hau Ko tells her that he will never let anyone who betrays him off including the woman he loves most! Hau Ko then whips out his gun and shoots Sam Jie.
With her dying breath, Sam Jie tells Hau Ko that she has never betrayed him. Hau Ko checks Sam Jie's phone to see her sms exchange with Pak Kiu. Hau Ko finally realises that he has judged Sam Jie wrongly. He asked her about the listening device, which Sam Jie says she has no idea what he is talking about. Hau Ko holds Sam Jie and apologises to her, but it's too late.
Fa Si Lai feels uneasy the whole morning and is very clumsy. She broke some plates and cups and cuts her hand. She attributes her clumsiness to missing Sam Jie. Fa Si Lai then goes off to feed "Bobby" a stray dog who passes by the street behind the restaurant. When feeding the dog, Fa Si Lai runs into Chiu Sir, who also brings food for the same dog. The two of them start to bicker. Luckily, Yuk Bo runs out on time to stop the two. Yuk Bo then shares with Fa Si Lai the story of Chiu Sir and his beloved pet dog, Yan Yan. Yan Yan apparently died while trying to catch a thief and Chiu Sir was devastated.
Chiu Sir told the stray dog that he could not keep it as pet because he has a phobia after what had happened to Yan Yan. Suddenly, there was a robbery across the street. The stray dog barked and encouraged Chiu Sir to chase after the robber. Chiu Sir chased after the robber and successfully arrest him. Yuk Bo who arrived at the scene praised Chiu Sir.
Hau Ko returns home without Sam Jie. Yau Yau was surprised to see him and asked about Sam Jie's whereabouts. Hau Ko tells her that they never boarded the cruise. Hau Ko claims he could not leave Chun Hing behind and has broken up with Sam Jie. Yau Yau offers to help him contact Sam Jie but Hau Ko tells her not to call Sam Jie.
Yau Yau goes to Pak Kiu's house to ask them if Sam Jie has returned home. Pak Kiu and Yuk Bo immediately sense that something is amiss. They forced Yau Yau to reveal what had happened. Yau Yau tells them that Hau Ko has returned but Sam Jie is no where to be seen. Sam Jie is also un-contactable. Yuk Bo is worried but Pak Kiu warns her not to alarm Fa Si Lai.
Pak Kiu met up with Lap Man in at their secluded meeting place. Pak Kiu told Lap Man about Sam Jie's disappearance. Pak Kiu said he has checked with the immigration department and Sam Jie did not officially leave Hong Kong. He also mentioned that Sam Jie had looked for him earlier and asked him hypothetical questions. Pak Kiu said Sam Jie may have discovered Hau Ko's secrets.
Hau Ko sends Lap Man an SMS asking when he would return to Hong Kong. At the same time Wu Sir calls Lap Man too. Lap Man decides to return to Hau Ko's side to investigate Sam Jie's death, thus ignoring Wu Sir's orders to remain in the safe house. He meet up with Yau Yau and convinces her to continue to be his girlfriend. This is the only way they can find out what happened to Sam Jie.
