You know I wouldn't mind the TVB using the worn out "wise old grandma knows better than everybody" angle, but the foreshadowing Grandma does saying they'll regret giving Lap Yin control of the bank account is a little bit over the top.

Hahaha! True, true. More of her predictions will come true in the later episodes.

I love this spunky grandma, especially during the later "spycam battle" (I won't give too much away to your other readers), but I still don't understand her hatred for Lap Yin. Hating or mistrusting someone simply because he's adopted makes her look petty and irrational. It's like hating Carmen because she wasn't born into the family, but married into it. But of course, Grandma loves Carmen. So it's not that Grandma hates outsiders, she just hates Lap Yin.

The writers should have given a reason for her mistrust. A simple scene like Lap Yin having stolen something from her as a child. Or having him lie repeatedly as a kid. As far as I can see, she simply thinks that he's a "smooth talker" whose words shouldn't be trusted.

Furthermore, Lap Yin is now independently wealthy and respected, so there's no reason to think that he would need to steal from the family account.

Thanks for these episode summaries. Since my Cantonese is extremely weak and I don't read Chinese, these guides are crucial to understanding the show.
